As we start another year in earnest it seems a good moment to sneak a glance at the extraordinary 12 months that was 2016. Consolidating our existing client base and working with some exciting new teams has meant new locations, new opportunities and the chance to deliver some truly incredible projects.
London cocktail week is one of the most creative trade show events in the entire country, bringing together some of the world's biggest spirits brands, most celebrated cocktail bars and most sought after bartenders and mixologists. The brainchild of the team at ‘DrinkUp.London’, the event’s cocktail village now takes over Old Spitalfields Market in London’s East End, as well as a number of bars and fringe spaces, with offers and special serves available in over 200 bars across the city. The RAWK Agency was onsite at Old Spitalfields all week activating #ScotchEggClub with the team from Dewar’s Blended Scotch.
As winter approaches, we were recently involved in one final summer activation, an event that took in both the beauty of the Scottish highlands and the traditional elegance of some of Edinburgh’s finest buildings. A brand immersion event for 22 Russian bartenders, journalists and influencers that took place over two days; commencing in and around Dewar’s amazing brand home at Aberfeldy and concluding in the nation's best restaurants and bars in Scotland's capital city.
It’s almost time for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, one of our favourite events of the year and an incredible time to live and work in the city of Edinburgh. As well as the thousands of unique performers that will make the city their home this month, the festival also tends to attract a number of brands and, as an experiential marketing agency, we are always excited to see what they’re going to deliver and how they intend to engage with audiences at one of the worlds biggest cultural festivals. With that in mind, we sat down to discuss the activations we’re most excited about this summer and here are five that the team are really looking forward to visiting.
At The RAWK Agency we are incredibly proud of our team, we all play our part and everybody's input is valued. With that in mind, I recently sat down with our creative director James Gibson to get his thoughts on being part of the team here at The RAWK Agency and find out which campaigns have been catching his eye recently.
It has been a very busy start to the summer here at The RAWK Agency, so our apologies for the lack of noise lately! As well as preparing for the next few months of incredible projects, we have just completed our latest big brand activation of the season, working with Bacardi Martini to produce the ‘Dewar’s Hotel’ campaign in the UK.
At The RAWK Agency we are incredibly proud of where we’ve come from as a team. The journey has made us who we are today and we believe it’s what makes us stand out from our competitors. For this post, I sat down with Alex Howell, Group Account Director and one of the co-founders here at The RAWK Agency to talk about his experience and what makes him tick.
As mentioned in our first blog post we travelled a lot last year, working in locations all over the world, so in this post we thought we’d give an insight into what it actually takes to organise and deploy a fully serviced international brand activation. We recently worked with John Dewar and Sons Ltd to deliver their incredible single malt portfolio and its custom designed stand at the ‘Malmö Öl and Whisky Festival’ in Sweden. Dylan from our Ops team kept a brief diary to illustrate exactly what it takes to make it all happen…..
As we come to the end of the first year since our re-brand, we can reflect upon all of the incredible work The RAWK Agency has been a part of in the past twelve months. We truly believe that activation and engagement are key parts of any brand’s marketing mix and have travelled the length and breadth of the UK, and beyond, to support our clients and bring their brand stories to life. We have delivered in cities across Europe, found ourselves in New York for a week and had the chance to work in even more beautiful Scottish locations than ever before.
Our work with Bacardi’s John Dewar and Sons whisky portfolio has seen us delivering brand immersion visits and masterclasses across all five of their distilleries, production managing film shoots and deploying trade stands as well as ambassadorial support at trade shows across the UK and Europe from both our base here in Edinburgh and our satellite hub in Amsterdam.
Across our wider client portfolio we have designed and activated numerous events and drinks receptions, worked on brand partnerships for music and sport festivals and designed and delivered various custom bar solutions and POS options.
As we prepare for another busy year with our incredible clients and a series of expansions within our own brand, let's take a final look at some of our favourite images captured whilst on our travels in 2015/16.
